Walk The Distance Tuesday Grass Island

Walking has huge benefits which tend to be overlooked. It can help maintain a healthy weight and lose body fat; prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and more; improve cardio fitness; strengthen your bones and muscles; increase energy levels; improve your mood and sleep; improve your balance and coordination; reduce stress and tension. We start our walk on your own or with friends. We walk between 20 and 30 minutes (depending on weather) at your own pace and finish together working on our arms with various weight exercises. Participants bring their own weights, if not available, you can do the same exercises without weights while working on your range of motion. All this while enjoying the view at Grass Island Pavilion overlooking the Sound.

Customized classes to meet your needs. In class you will work connective tissue and joints to create space and strengthen muscles and bones to help with balance. You will connect your breath to your body, mind and soul. Advanced Yogalates: In-person or ZOOM

Join us for Advanced Yogalates, a mat class that combines the whole-body flexibility and strength of Yoga and Pilates. Learn to practice sun salutations while engaging the core and connecting your breath to your movement. A Matter of Balance -Live & Zoom

Balance training involves doing exercises to strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core. Practicing single leg stances while doing a bicep curl or circling your arms while standing on a pretend balance beam will challenge your mind and body. These kinds of exercises can improve strength, range of motion, stability and posture, which ultimately will help prevent falls. Chair Yoga Live Wednesday

Yoga builds strength and flexibility, as well as improving balance. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing while using the chair for support. It helps improve flexibility, increase strength and reduce stress and joint strain. All poses are done either in the chair or standing next to the chair for support. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Walk the Distance Weds Cos Cob

This class is formatted the same as Walk The Distance with Weights except the location is at Cos Cob Park, and instead of working with weights, we work on our Balance the last 20 minutes of class. Again the view is spectacular overlooking the Cos Cob Harbor from the Pavilion.

Whether you're a beginner or fluent, come and learn the Italian language and engage in conversation!
